Founder Bob Orr started the business in 1979 with a single used wood stove financed by a high-climbing tree job. Bob seldom climbs and fells trees anymore, but is still putting in the long hours in the store as well as in the field. We are still the place to look for a good used wood stove but we also offer the most extensive selection of new stoves and fireplaces. We display 50 or so stoves on the floor as well as gas fireplaces, stoves and accessories.

Bob is hard to catch and may have to return a call but you will benefit by his experience as the oldest and largest hearth retailer in the area.

Jack started his career with Black Mountain Stove & Chimney in 1993 as field installer and service technician. After years of service and building a reputation as one of the best technicians in the region, the ride was over almost instantly as Jack severely and permanently injured his back during a wood stove installation. After almost a year being out of service, Jack has traded in his tool box and service truck for a cordless phone, computer, and notebook to use in the showroom.
